Water is a living, fluid, force. In AWA, water carries both personal and collective stories, connecting individual experiences with the past, present and future of the Black Diaspora. It is a meditative experience in which the film follows a swimmer; we experience the world through her mind’s eye while the voice of the water speaks to her. Through her imagination, we see fragments of stories link individual experiences to the past, present and future.
